SERVICES: 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Brown was born November 14, 1917 in Denison to O. B. and Mattie Ferguson Owens, and she came to Pampa in 1931 at the age of 14. Margie attended Pampa High School where she met Redgiel Brown; they later married on November 28, 1935 in Pampa. He preceded her in death in 1990. After they were married, they made their home in the Pampa area. Margie was one of the early members of the Central Baptist Church, and she held many offices in leadership at the church. Margie was a past president and director of WMU and enjoyed going to Glorietta, NM and other locations in the work of her Lord. Church has been a basis of her entire life. Margie's 92 years have been dedicated to the development of improving life through Christ, and she has touched so many lives. Margie also worked for the Girl Scouts of America, was a member of the Disabled Veterans Association Auxiliary, and she worked for the Democrat Party Election Board for many years as chairman. She was a lady of many talents, loving to cook and garden, and Margie's recipes have appeared in print in several cookbooks. Margie will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant sisters, a sister, Janey Cooper, a brother, Walter Owens, a son-in-law, Elmer Immel, and twin infant great granddaughters, Brianna and Alexandra Jones. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Interim Home Health Care and Hospice for the loving care that was given to Margie in her final days and a special thanks to Denise Joiner and Sue Daugherty.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Bonnie Immel of Pampa and Barbara Linn and husband Fred of Barnsdall, OK; a son: Redgiel "Reggie" Brown Jr. of Lawton, OK; Margie also raised a sister, Joyce Rasco, and husband Gerald of Pampa and a brother, Charles Owens, of Pampa; she also raised 3 grandchildren, Sara Taliaferro and husband Ricky of Lawton, OK, James Adam Brown of Bunker Hill, IN, and Gordon Blythe and wife Kim of Pampa; she is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 35 great and great-great grandchildren.MEMORIALS: Central Baptist Church, 513 E.
