SERVICES: 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at the Carpenter's Church, with Pastor Fred Palmer and Pastor Jim Sinyard, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery with military honors by the U. S. Army, Fort Hood, Texas.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Clark was born January 23, 1921 in El Dorado, Oklahoma. He was reared in Paducah where he attended school. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II. He had been a resident of Pampa since the late 1960's where he drove trucks and later owned and operated Clark's Tire for over 40 years. He married Beverly Ward on January 23, 1972 in Vernon. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2007. Melvin will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.SURVIVORS: daughter: Mary Clark-Brito and husband David of Pampa; stepson: Rusty Ward and wife Sharon of Shreveport, Louisiana; 4 granddaughters: Leah Canon, and Charlotte Montega and husband Felipe, all of Killeen, Lisa Busby of Pampa, and Brittney Ward of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandson: Hunter Ward of Shreveport, Louisiana; great-grandson: Jordan Sanders of Fort Worth; great-granddaughter: Morgan Sanders of Fort Worth; nephew: Dewayne Farror and wife Donna of Florida; and his dog, "Jade." Melvin was preceded in death by a son: Leon Ray Clark in 1983; 3 stepchildren: Twila Busby in 1993, LaDonna Alderson and Doug Ward; 3 step-grandchildren: Elwin (Scooter) Shipp, Randy Busby and Christopher Ward.MEMORIALS: Interim Hospice, 2217 Perryton Pkwy, Pampa, Texas 79065.
