Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Sublett was born April 21, 1925 in Yellville, Arkansas, moving to Oklahoma when he was about 3 years old. His family returned to Arkansas, where he started to school at Georgie Creek School. In about the fourth grade, his family moved to Sasakwa, Oklahoma, where Bill graduated from Sasakwa High School. Bill entered the U. S. Navy before his 18th birthday, turning 18 during his tour of service, and serving on Submarine Scamp 277. He married Marjorie Smyth on October 6, 1945. Bill moved to Pampa in the early 1950's, working for Celanese Chemical Co. from 1952 until 1967. He then went to work for Cabot Corp. from 1969 until he retired in the late 1980's. He worked for Bayou Salle Contractors for 5 to 6 years, and was a minister with the Navajo Relief Ministries in Burnt Corn & Blue Gap, Arizona for approximately 8 years. One of Bill's greatest achievements was celebrating his AA sober birthday which was January 24, 1985. SURVIVORS: wife: Margie Sublett of Pampa; his son: Mike Sublett and wife Shari of Pampa; a sister: Mary Frances Foster and husband John of Runaway Bay; 3 grandchildren: Christina Mearse and husband Adam of Boling Brook, Illinois, Jeffrey Sublett and wife Kim of Key West, Florida, and Sgt. Chad Sublett and wife Kassy of Junction City, Kansas; and 6 great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Create-A-Beat, 1615 N. Banks, Pampa, Texas 79065.
