SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors with Rev. Lewis Ellis, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Ms. Akins was born Sept. 16, 1951 in Memphis, Texas and was a 1970 graduate of Lefors High School. She married Brad Snell on June 25, 1970 in Lefors. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2004. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lefors. She had been a resident of Amarillo for the past 3 years.SURVIVORS: 2 sons: Chad Snell and wife Cindy of Pampa and Cody Freeman and companion Sanya Milner of Clovis, NM; her father and stepmother: Wendell and Helen Akins of Lefors; her mother: Belva June Thacker of Pampa; 6 grandchildren: Darion Snell, Braxton Snell, Coleton Bolin, and Calista Bolin, all of Pampa, Damon Freeman and Kaden Freeman, both of Clovis, NM. She was preceded in death by her brother, Oval Clayton Akins.
