SERVICES: 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Jim Powell, retired Baptist minister, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Cofer was born February 24, 1912 in Antioch, Oklahoma, to John and Maude Ledgerwood. She married T. C. Cofer on August 2, 1930 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. After 51 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on October 31, 1981. Ellen had been a resident of Skellytown from 1930 until July of 1979 when she moved to Pampa. She worked for the Skellytown ISD in the school cafeteria, retiring in 1972 after 23 years of service. She was a member of Hobart Baptist Church. Ellen delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years. She enjoyed her Friday get-togethers with the Friday afternoon "chicken foot" group. She loved her church family and family, especially her great-grandchildren.SURVIVORS: daughter: Betty Crawford and husband Kenneth of Pampa; 2 grandsons: Neal Crawford of Canadian and Kevin Crawford and wife Donna of Pampa; 2 great-granddaughters: Courtney Crawford of Amarillo and Meagan Crawford of Weatherford, Oklahoma; brother-in-law: Archie Cofer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Champ Ledgerwood; and 2 sisters: Gladys Ketchum and Lola Helms.MEMORIALS: Hobart Baptist Church, 1100 W.
