Army, Fort Hood, Texas.Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. White was born August 6, 1938 in Durant, Oklahoma where he started work at the age of 13 as a golf caddy. He joined the National Guard at the age of 16, and retired as a Lt. Col. in 1998 after 43 years of service. He graduated from Durant High School in 1956 and attended Southeastern University in Durant. Sam came to Borger in 1959 where he married Sally Blanks on June 9, 1961. He moved to Pampa in 1971 where he started his insurance career and owned and operated Sam White Insurance Agency. He was a former member of the Pampa Lions Club and Sam was the color analyst for Pampa Harvester football and basketball for KGRO Radio for over 20 years. He was an avid golfer. SURVIVORS: wife: Sally White of the home; daughter: Amber Sullivan and husband Brian of Pampa; son: James White and wife Clover of Albemarle, North Carolina; daughter-in-law: Christie White of The Colony; sister: Norma Dear and husband John of Alexandria, Virginia; 2 brothers: Michael White and wife Marie of Clackamas, Oregon, and David King of Borger; 9 grandchildren: Claire White of Albemarle, North Carolina, Corey Herrera, Peyton White and Paige White, all of The Colony, Blaze Sullivan, Indy Sullivan, Aspen Sullivan, Tripp Sullivan and True Sullivan, all of Pampa.
