SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Roy King, interim pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Military rites are courtesy of the U. S. Army, Fort Hood, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Green was born April 23, 1935 in Pampa where he was a 1953 graduate of Pampa High School. He married Martha Ann Carlile on June 5, 1955 in Pampa. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, attaining the rank of Sgt. B. J. began working for The Pampa News when he was six years old, delivering papers downtown, and was a pressman for 49 years. He was a member of First Christian Church. He delivered meals to shut-ins for the First Christian Church Sunshine Ministry. He was a longtime member of the Pampa Boat and Ski Club and enjoyed fishing with his father and uncles. B. J. loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.SURVIVORS: wife: Martha Ann Green of the home; 2 daughters: Cheryl Ann Couts and husband Joe of Pampa, and Vicki Lynn Young and husband David of Arlington; a sister: Jackie Barker of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren: Megan Elizabeth Couts of Lubbock, Meredith Brooke Couts and Garrett Evan Couts, both of Pampa, and Madison Nicole Young and Jade Oriana Young, both of Arlington.
