SERVICES: 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Lefors, with Rev. Lee Banks, officiating.BURIAL: Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors with military honors courtesy U. S. Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Gifford was born June 27, 1931 in Faxon, Oklahoma to Skeet and Leta Gifford. He was reared in Oklahoma and around Borger. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1948, serving during the Korean Conflict. Eudell later joined the U. S. Coast Guard, serving until 1959. He married Mary Ann Meeks on April 20, 1965 in Panhandle. They recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. He was a heavy equipment operator for Gray County Pct. 1 and Pct. 2 for over 20 years. Eudell was a charter member of the Panhandle Bluegrass and Oldtyme Music Association. He will be remembered for his music. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a beloved father and a good friend. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. SURVIVORS: wife: Mary Ann Gifford of the home; 2 daughters: Donna Sue Gifford and Nita DeAnn Wallace, both of Lefors; 4 grandsons: Aaron Gifford of Pennsylvania, Arthur Gifford, Dyllan Wallace and Dustin Wallace, all of Lefors; a brother: Melvin Gifford of Geronimo, Oklahoma; 2 sisters: Velda Chadwick of Arkansas, and Mary Frances Lezak of Austin; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Eudell was preceded in death by his parents: Skeet and Leta Gifford; a sister: Mattie Garrison; a brother: Alvie Gifford, and a son: Skeeter Gifford.MEMORIALS: to a favorite charity.SPECIAL NOTICE: Immediately following the services, everyone is invited to the Gifford home at 407 E. 4th in Lefors for a music session.
