SERVICES: 2:00 PM Friday, May 28, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Miami, with Russell Maddox, her son, and Rev. Dennis Williams, pastor of First Baptist Church of Miami, officiating.BURIAL: Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Maddox was born February 20, 1926 in Dumas, where she graduated from high school. She married Wayne Maddox on June 6, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2005. Benonia had been a resident of Miami for 60 years before moving to Amarillo in 2003. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Miami for 65 years and Gideons Auxiliary. The family would like to thank the staff at Ware Memorial Care Center for their love and care. SURVIVORS: son: Russell Maddox and wife Dana of North Richland Hills; 3 daughters: Kay Quast of Comanche, Cheryl Evans and husband Steve of Amarillo, and Laurel Fort and husband Dr. David Fort of Ouadougroo, Burkino Faso, West Africa; sister: Willa Hambrook of Kennewick, Washington; sister-in-law: Bernice Maddox of Cleburne; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
