SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery, with Pastor Paul Nachtigall of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Locke was born May 6, 1916 in Miami, Texas, to Johnny Christy and Gertrude Douglas Weckesser. She was a 1935 graduate of Miami High School. She married John Thomas Locke on September 23, 1939 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1985. Vivian had been a resident of Pampa since 1946. She was the secretary for District Attorney Bill Waters in the late 1950's and early 1960's. She later worked as a secretary at Cabot IRI, retiring after a total of 25 years of service. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She enjoyed many years of playing bridge with Pampa friends.SURVIVORS: 3 sons: Clarence Thomas Locke and Douglas Reese Locke, both of the home, and John Gregory Locke and wife Jeannette Raef of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren: Deana Jones and husband Troy of Kemah, K. Stacey Gascon and husband David of Houston, Fawnswa Burrows and Kenneth Hopson of Pampa, Brian Locke, and John Christopher Locke and wife Heather, all of Amarillo; 7 great-grandchildren: Shawnace Joe Tennyson and husband Joshua of Cut N Shoot, Candace Nichole Locke and Gary Teakell, and Chancellor (Chancey) Reece Burrows, all of Pampa; Victoria D'Anne Thomas and Amy Lee Gascon, both of Spring, Zada Marie Gascon of Houston, and Caelan Locke of Amarillo; 3 great-great-grandchildren: Kayla Joe Yarborough of Houston, Haden Teakell and Gavin Burrows-Baston, both of Pampa.
