Fines Marchman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Kenney was born May 17, 1913 in Willow, Oklahoma, to Estelle and Frank Shinn. Leslie and her twin sister Layla were married to brothers John and Oscar Kenney. They were two of six sisters in the family.Leslie Shinn and John Kenney were married December 22, 1931 in Sayre, Oklahoma. John preceded her in death on February 27, 1996. They had three daughters: Eldine, Doris and Yvonne. Leslie was a homemaker, taking care of her family. She loved to cook everyone's favorite dish, especially pies and homemade rolls. She loved to crochet and give the items to family and friends.Leslie was a longtime resident of Skellytown before moving to Amarillo in 1994. She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Skellytown where she taught girls Sunday School classes and sang in the church choir. She was presently a member of Second Baptist Church in Amarillo. She was a fifty-year member of the Pampa Chapter #65 Order of the Eastern Star. The family would like to thank the staff at Craig Retirement Community for the loving care of their mother. Leslie appreciated everything they did for her.She was preceded in death by her parents; and 5 sisters and brothers-in-law: Nina Williams and her husband Arbra, her twin Layla Kenney and husband Oscar, Christine Merrick and husband Walter, Jean Mixon and husband Clint, and Georgia Strother and husband Charles. SURVIVORS: her daughters: Eldine Oglesby and husband Bob of Sweeney, Doris Nash and husband John of Wellington, and Yvonne Nunn and husband Ross of Scottsboro, Alabama; 8 grandchildren: Ralph Oglesby and wife Carolyn, Vicki McClellan, Larry Oglesby and wife Peggy, Karen Follett and husband Pat, Clint Nash and wife Tonya, Darrell Nash and wife Debbie, Stephanie McFall and husband Steve, and Shawn Nunn and wife Yuko; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
