SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, April 16, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Kenny Rigoulot, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Gruben was born July 21, 1927 in Spur, Texas, and was a 1944 graduate of Spur High School. He attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene for two years, and attended Texas Technological University in Lubbock, graduating in 1949 with a major in zoology and a minor in math. Henry married Ramona Matheny on September 1, 1949 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on August 13, 1991. He had been a resident of Pampa since June of 1953. He later married Mary Hills on November 6, 1992 in Pampa. Henry held licenses as a Texas Real Estate Broker, a Texas Life Insurance Agent, and a Texas General Insurance Recording Agent. He was an insurance sales associate for American General Life Insurance Company from 1953-1954. He worked as an agent and partner with Panhandle Insurance Agency and later Marsh & McLennan Agency from 1954 until his retirement on May 1, 1986. He was also the owner and broker for Century 21 Pampa Realty. Henry was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Everyman's Bible Class, the Top O' Texas Masonic Lodge #1381, and a former member and president of the Pampa Noon Lions Club. SURVIVORS: wife: Mary Gruben of the home; 2 sons: David Gruben of Boerne, and Karl T. Gruben and wife Linda of San Diego, California; granddaughter: Erin E. Gross and husband Chris of Longmont, Colorado; step-granddaughter: Angela M.
