He was a lifelong resident of Pampa, graduating from Pampa High School in 1950. He received a bachelor's degree in education from West Texas State University in 1954. Skip worked as a mail carrier for the Pampa Post Office for many years until his retirement. He married June Shepherd on May 3, 1973 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2001. He was a charter member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.SURVIVORS: stepdaughter: Dana Stafford and husband Charles of Houston; stepson: Steve Shepherd of Houston; sister: Doralee Bridgeman and husband Frank Garza, Jr., of San Antonio; 4 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; 4 nieces and nephews.MEMORIALS: March of Dimes, Golden Spread Chapter, 104 SW 6th Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79101.
