SERVICES: 10:00 AM Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Taylor, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Westfall was born May 20, 1916 in Ranger, where she attended school. She married John Westfall, Sr., on December 2, 1937 in Corpus Christi. He preceded her in death in November of 1993. Dovie worked in retail sales for many years. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1976. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the WinSome Sunday School class. In her spare time, she loved to garden and raise her own vegetables. She also bred and raised Pekinese dogs. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Mary Bridges of Phoenix, Arizona and Margaret Haverfield of Pampa; a son: John Westfall and wife Joyce of Falls Church, Virginia; sister: Tempie Lacek of Sulphur Springs; brother: Firman Dean of Dallas; 2 grandsons: John Griffith of Pampa and Phillip Westfall of Falls Church, Virginia. Dovie was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Lelia Nelson, Eda Thorpe, Leota Miller and Esther Friend.MEMORIALS: Alzheimer's Association, 415 W. 8th Ave., Suite 300, Amarillo, Texas 79101.
