Navy.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Fick was born on May 10, 1924 in Hutchinson, Kansas and attended schools in the Kansas area. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre where he was stationed at Pearl Harbor, and he later served in the Korean Conflict. Bob married Thelma June James on Oct. 10, 1949 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 22, 1990. He and his family moved to Pampa in 1957 where he had lived ever since. In 1962, he went to work for Cabot Corp. where he was employed until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. In his spare time, Bob was an avid bowler, and he met his longtime companion, Billie Gowdy, while bowling. They have spent 15 good years together, and he was always supporting and helping to care for all his grandchildren.SURVIVORS: 2 sons: Joe Ray Fick of Amarillo and Robert Glen Fick of Ringwood, OK; 2 daughters: Jessie Brown and husband Ray of Amarillo and Carol Kirkwood and husband Ivan of Wichita, KS; his companion: Billie Gowdy of Pampa; 3 stepdaughters: Kristy Irby of Lubbock; Polly Dougless and husband Bob of Midland; and Lori Kidd of Pampa; a daughter-in-law: Tabitha Bennett of Ringwood, OK; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
