SERVICES: Gravesides services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Collins was born August 24, 1921 in Beggs, Oklahoma. He married Veda M. Gasaway in 1941 in White Deer. He worked for Northern Natural Gas as a technician for 38 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Collins was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his brother; Ben E. Collins.SURVIVORS: his wife: Veda M. Collins of Lubbock. 1 son: L.R. "Rick" Collins and wife Deborah and granddaughter; Amanda Collins all of Lubbock.
