SERVICES: 2:00 PM Monday, January 4, 2010, at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Johnny Funderburg, pastor and Rev. Doug Dubose, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 10:45 Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, with Rev. John Hornsby, nephew, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: After a journey of almost 86 years the Lord called Nina home at the close of the year and the close of the day on December 31, 2009. Her journey carried her through several foreign countries and many cities as she followed her husband's ministries. Nina won't have to move any more. Jesus has provided a permanent home fashioned just for her. Nina was born January 17, 1924 in Arkansas. She graduated for Austin High School, and she attended the University of Texas in Austin and Howard Payne University in Brownwood. She married Rev. Doug DuBose on July 14, 1943 in Austin. She has been a resident of Pampa for 34 years. Nina was a wonderful homemaker, a tireless worker, gifted musician, Sunday School teacher, and loving, self-sacrificing mother and loyal wife. Nina was a vital part in her husband's ministries also serving as his secretary with the Top O' Texas Area Baptist for 12 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. The family looks forward to seeing her on the other side where they take up on the 66 years with no interruption.SURVIVORS: Husband: Rev. Doug DuBose of the home; 3 sons: Ted DuBose of Pampa, Roy DuBose of Austin and Max DuBose of Boerne; 5 grandsons: Jason DuBose, Russell DuBose and Tyler DuBose all of Lubbock, Jake DuBose of Ft. Worth and Adam DuBose of Irving; 3 great granddaughters: Mia DuBose and Phoebe both of Lubbock and Mattilin DuBose of Irving; 2 great grandsons: Perry DuBose of Lubbock and Logan DuBose of Irving; 1 brother; Dr. E.L. Sparks of San Marcos. Nina was preceded in death by her parents: Rev. and Mrs. E.L. Sparks and her sister Cloteene Hornsby.SPECIAL NOTICE: The family will receive friends Sunday, January 3, 2010, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
