Lane, pastor of United Methodist Church of White Deer, officiating.BURIAL: White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Payne was born July 22, 1923 in Byers. He graduated from Texas Tech University. He taught Agriculture in Claude and worked in the Pampa Independent School District for many years, teaching Agriculture from 1950-1960, serving as principal at Pampa Junior High School from 1960-1972 and Pampa High School from 1973-1985, retiring in 1993. He married LaNelle Brown on July 15, 1952 in Pampa. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.SURVIVORS: wife: LaNelle Payne of the home; a son: Sidney Paul Payne and wife Beth of Leander; daughter: Alison Cagle and husband Jack of Pampa; 5 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
