SERVICES: 10:00 AM Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Richard Bartel, pastor and Rev. Dallas Stringer, associate pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Adams was born September 9, 1936 in Plano, Texas, to Ruben Arthur and Callie Adams. His family later moved to Canadian where he was reared and graduated high school. He had been a resident of Pampa since the late 1960's when he went to work for the City of Pampa. He was a fireman for over 15 years where he adopted his second family, the "band of brothers" from Central Fire Station. Tom was later promoted and took the oath of office as Fire Marshall for the City of Pampa, where he proudly served for 10 years. He retired in 1996 with over 27 years of service. He married Beneva Ann Hill on February 9, 1977 in Sayre, Oklahoma.Tom was a devoted husband, loving father, brother and grandfather, and a faithful and loyal friend to all who knew him. He may have been small in stature, but was the tallest man in the world to those who knew him. He had the softest heart of gold which he shared with all who were ever blessed to know him.He was baptized in the late 1970's in Fellowship Baptist Church in Pampa. His current church home and third family was Calvary Baptist Church, and everyone around him knew he loved God with all his heart. Upon his death, not only was he reunited with his earthly parents, but more importantly, he was able to see the face of his heavenly father. SURVIVORS: his wife of 32 years: Beneva Adams of the home; 3 daughters: Lequeta Logan and Kim Blythe and husband Gordon, all of Pampa, and Jackie Corley and husband Darrell of Vinita, Oklahoma; a son: Scott Adams and girlfriend Bea of Pampa; his brother: Floyd Adams and wife Mabel of Pampa; 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a huge extended family.
