Roy King, interim minister, and Paul Carruth, associate area minister for the Christian Church in the Southwest, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Gamblin was born April 7, 1930 in Cushing, Oklahoma, to Clay and Mona Gamblin. He was reared in Pampa, attending Horace Mann Elementary and graduating from Pampa High School in 1948. He was very proud of both schools and being a Pampa Harvester. George was the captain of the 1948 Harvester basketball team and was an all-district pitcher for the first organized Pampa High School baseball team. He married Mardell Hawkins on August 18, 1950 in Pampa. He was employed as a salesman for H. R. Thompson Parts & Supply for 48 years, working in Pampa and the surrounding Panhandle area. George was a member of the First Christian Church since 1956, serving various positions in the church during his membership. He was awarded Elder Emeritus in 2008.SURVIVORS: wife of 59 years: Mardell Gamblin of the home; four sons: Kris Gamblin and wife Terry of Pampa, Marshall Gamblin and wife Sheryl of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kory Gamblin of Fort Worth, and Grant Gamblin of Dallas; four grandchildren: Stephanie McGee and husband Sam, Jennifer Wehrli and husband Jeff, all of Bethany, Oklahoma, David Gamblin and wife Michelle of Lewisville, and Kyle Gamblin and wife Amy of Pampa; seven great-grandchildren: Ella, Emerson, Duncan, Gage, Josh, Silas and Molly; and a brother: Buford Gamblin of Little Elm.
