SERVICES: 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at First Baptist Church, with Pastor Harold Abney, Baptist minister, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Lockney Cemetery in Lockney, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Kent was born October 13, 1916 in Collin County. He married Bernece Webb on November 20, 1937 in Pike. He moved to Lockney in 1947 where he was a mechanic at the Ford dealership, retiring in 1978. He remained in Lockney until June of 2004 when he moved to Pampa. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Lockney. In his later years, Mr. Kent enjoyed working puzzles and loved working in his yard and garden.SURVIVORS: wife: Bernece Kent of the home; daughter: Wetia Loter of Pampa; 2 sons: Deral Kent and wife Carol of Humble, and Gary Lyn Kent of Asheville, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren: Kelly Wade Loter and Andrew Deral Kent, both of Dallas, Stacy Schrap of Allen, Jeffrey Daniel Kent of Berkley, California, and Bryan Joseph Kent of Humble; 4 great-granddaughters: Riley Loter, Sophia Loter and Ava Loter, all of Dallas, and Shiloh Schrap of Allen; 1 sister: Dean Hackney and husband James of Arlington.
