Hood, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Cole was born September 5, 1921 in Gray County on his family's farm. He attended schools in Pampa, graduating from Pampa High School in 1939. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving from 1942 until 1944 with the 24th Infantry Division during World War II. Don married Venora Anderson in August of 1946. She preceded him in death on June 29, 1993. He later married Doris Snow on February 10, 1996 in Pampa. She preceded him in death in 2006. He co-owned and operated Cole's Automotive for over 20 years, retiring in the late 1960's. After retirement, Don taught auto mechanics at Pampa High School for another 20-plus years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he participated in the Everyman's Bible Class. He was a member of the Pampa Kiwanis Club and the V.F.W. One of Don's greatest passions was to completely restore cars from the ground up. He also enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Gail Cole and Donna Finch and husband Roy, all of Pampa; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
