She was raised on the family farm in White Deer with her seven siblings. She attended school in White Deer, graduating from White Deer High School in 1959. She was very active in school activities where she was on the student council, a cheerleader, played tennis and basketball, with her team going to the state finals her senior year. Although Marilyn is remembered for her intelligence and beauty, she is also remembered and revered for her dedication to her family, marriage, children and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She continued to dedicate time, energy and resources not only to the church, but to all who crossed her path, with love and patience that is not only rare, but will forever be cherished by those who were blessed to know her. She was very successful in insurance sales, winning many awards and trips for her achievements. Never a cross word or enemy did Marilyn know. Family members and friends alike will forever be hard pressed to ever hear a negative word of this God-loving mother, wife and friend.
