Roberta (Wilson) Williams, 87, born in White Deer, Texas to Russell and Mae Nicholson, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009, in Pampa, Texas.Roberta was raised in White Deer, received her advanced education in Canyon, and lived for many years in Houston. Married to Gerald P. (Jerry) Wilson until his passing in 1979, Roberta returned to White Deer in 1983, and later married Alvin Williams of White Deer; he passed away in 1995. She is survived by her sister Florine (Nikki) Gatlin and husband George and brother Leon Nicholson, all of Amarillo; dear friend Bill Brown of White Deer; her sons Mike Wilson and wife Kathy of Houston, Larry Wilson of Lindale, and Ron Wilson of Calgary, Alberta; granddaughters Jenny Wilson Franco and husband Paul of Houston, Krysti Wilson Dailey and husband Kregg of Houston, and Kelly Wilson of Los Angeles, California; grandsons: John Wilson and wife Angie of Tyler, James Wilson and wife Christi of Whitehouse, and Dave Wilson of Houston; great-grandchildren: Eryn Wilson of Tyler, Jason, Madison and Mary Elizabeth Wilson, all of Whitehouse, and McKenna and Malia Franco, both of Houston. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Nicholson of White Deer.Roberta was, above all, a homemaker. Born of pioneer stock, she was steadfast in her beliefs and true to herself. She was resourceful and inventive, creative and caring. She was a profound influence on a family whose homes everywhere were strengthened by her wisdom and brightened by her spirit. Her longtime memberships in the White Deer United Methodist Church and White Deer Senior Citizens brought her together with a community that prospered by her gifts and thrived with her service.A funeral service will honor Roberta Williams' life at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the White Deer United Methodist Church, 101 W. 8th Ave. The Rev. Dr. Jerry R. Lane will officiate. All are invited to attend and to share memories at the luncheon following. A graveside service will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 12, 2009. The Rev. Dale Dailey will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather afterwards from 4:00-6:00 PM in the parlor at Bellaire United Methodist Church, 4417 Bellaire Blvd., Bellaire, Texas.The family recommends that remembrances be considered for Roberta's memorial to White Deer Senior Citizens Center, 319 S.
