BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Mills was born September 13, 1939 at Worley Hospital in Pampa and was reared in the Spring Creek and Skellytown communities. He attended school at Spring Creek, graduating from White Deer High School in 1958. He was converted at Haile Baptist Church in 1948 and remained a lifelong Christian. Mr. Mills married Rita Watson in 1960 at Harrah Methodist Church in Pampa. They were divorced in 1980. He was employed by Radcliff Supply, the U. S. Post Office in Pampa, and the Amarillo Globe-News, retiring in 1992. He had been a resident of Pampa from 1960 to 1981, a resident of Amarillo from 1981 to 2000, and a resident of Lubbock from 2000 until the time of his death.SURVIVORS: a daughter: Pam Sumrall of Slaton; a son: Stephen Mills of Austin; 3 grandchildren; 2 brothers: Marlin Mills of Deer Park, and Marvin Mills of Fort Worth; and a sister: Kay Metzer of The Woodlands. He was preceded in death by his parents: Barney and Clara Mills in 1979; and his brother: Richard Mills in 2002.
