SERVICES: 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Monty Joiner, son-in-law, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Matthews was born November 10, 1928 in McLean. He married Thelma Kimbley on January 30, 1950 in Clovis, New Mexico. He had been a resident of Pampa for 56 years, moving to Amarillo in 2006. Vindle worked for Fite Food Market for 23 years, and Ray & Bill's Grocery for 15 years as a meat cutter. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Vindle enjoyed fishing, hunting, gun collecting and playing the guitar.SURVIVORS: wife: Thelma Matthews of the home; 3 daughters: Jymma Loree Stimpson and husband David of Amarillo, Darlis Kay Joiner and husband Monty of McLean, and Dana Carole Lee and husband Fred of Fargo, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Vindle was preceded in death by a daughter: Lynna Lorraine Fry; and a sister: Florene Everson.MEMORIALS: Alzheimer's Association 415 W. 8th Ave., Suite 300, Amarillo, Texas 79101.
