He married Thelma Kimbley on January 30, 1950 in Clovis, New Mexico. He had been a resident of Pampa for 56 years, moving to Amarillo in 2006. Vindle worked for Fite Food Market for 23 years, and Ray & Bill's Grocery for 15 years as a meat cutter. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Vindle enjoyed fishing, hunting, gun collecting and playing the guitar.SURVIVORS: wife: Thelma Matthews of the home; 3 daughters: Jymma Loree Stimpson and husband David of Amarillo, Darlis Kay Joiner and husband Monty of McLean, and Dana Carole Lee and husband Fred of Fargo, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
