SERVICES: At his request, Mr. Williams' body was donated to Texas Tech School of Medicine. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 29, 2009, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Williams was born June 11, 1923 in Wilson, Oklahoma, to Walter and Viola Williams. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1952. He married Dorothy Bashaw on March 25, 2006 in Pampa. He was the owner and operator of Williams Appliance. Mr. Williams was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II in the 1306th Engineer Regiment. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1391 of Pampa, Top O' Texas Masonic Lodge #1381 AF & AM, and served on the Selective Service Board. Mr. Williams loved camping, loved to play dominoes and call Bingo for the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed his family and enjoyed spending time with them. SURVIVORS: wife: Dorothy Williams of the home; 4 daughters: Rebecca Ann Ellis and husband Ed of Missoula, Montana, Donna Minyard of Pampa, Mary Jane Helfenbein and husband Jerry of McAlester, Oklahoma, Sherry Lynn Walker and husband Johnny of Corpus Christi, and their mother: Voneta Calvary Williams of Odessa; 3 stepsons: Don Bashaw and Jimmy Bashaw and wife Winnie, all of Sayre, Oklahoma, and Dan Bashaw and wife Ida of Hobart, Oklahoma; 3 stepdaughters: Sue Dixon and husband Keith and Jane Eakins and husband Bill, all of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Faye Ellington of Tuttle, Oklahoma; 2 brothers: Howard Williams and wife Pat of Pampa, and Ralph Williams and wife Linda of Houston; 25 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: 2 brothers: Royce Williams and Douglas Williams; 1 son-in-law: Michael Minyard; and 2 granddaughters: Valory Minyard and Laura Michelle Ellis.
