SERVICES: 10:00 AM Friday, July 31, 2009, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Rev. Darrell Burton, chaplain for Hospice of the Southwest, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.ENTOMBMENT: Memory Gardens MausoleumBIOGRAPHY: Mr. Potter was born March 9, 1945 in Pampa. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army where he served with the 1st Air Cavalry Unit (the Gary Owen division) during the Vietnam War. During his service time, he received the air medal, expert combat infantryman badge, Vietnam service medal with the Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart. Mr. Potter worked as a heavy equipment operator for W. O. Operating Company, retiring in 2007. In his spare time, he liked to shoot his guns, work on cars and ride his motorcycle.SURVIVORS: his wife of 34 years: Joyce Potter of Pampa; a son: Wayne Potter and wife Andrea of Amarillo; a daughter: Josette Wine and husband Carl of Pampa; a brother: Lael Potter and wife Mary of Kilgore; and a sister: Annetta Bradley and husband Dean of Roston, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
