He married Judy Ballard on July 29, 1950 in Wheeler. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1954. Robert was employed by the City of Pampa for 27 years, retiring as maintenance superintendent. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving from February of 1946 until April of 1948. He was a longtime member of Barrett Baptist Church and was a current member of CrossPointe Church. Robert loved to go camping and fishing and he enjoyed woodworking and cooking.SURVIVORS: his wife: Judy Herring of the home; 2 daughters: Brenda Morris and Barbara Miller, both of Pampa; daughter-in-law: Kay Herring of Pampa; 2 sisters-in-law: Katharine Justice of Hurst and Linda Jones of Lefors; 10 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Sonya Patricia Herring in 1957; and a son: Robert G. Herring on March 23, 2006.MEMORIALS: National Kidney Foundation, Amarillo District, 801 S.
