SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Fairview Cemetery, with Pastor Bob Banks, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Lewis was born January 17, 1917 in Gray County to Joseph Henry and Leta Farrington Lewis. The Lewis family was one of the first settlers in Roberts and Gray counties. Abe was a longtime Gray County farmer and rancher, farming east of Pampa since 1946. He was a member of Gray-Roberts County Farm Bureau and the American Legion. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving with the 90th Infantry Division during World War II, and achieving the rank of Sgt. He was preceded in death by his parents: a brother: Joseph Farrington Lewis; and a sister: Josephine Lawler.SURVIVORS: daughter: Grazia Moser of Pampa; son: Danny Lewis of Pampa; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; special friend and longtime caregiver: Cheryl Harvill of Shepard's Crook Home Health Care; and caregiver: Deb Banks.The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Hospice of the Southwest for their loving care of Mr. Lewis.MEMORIALS: to a favorite charity.
