SERVICES: 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Richard Bartel, pastor, and Keith Roberson, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, with Rev. Bruce Howard, pastor of First Baptist Church of Hedley, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Clendennen was born September 22, 1942 in Fort Worth. As a young boy, his family moved to Hedley where he was reared and went to school. He married Judy Saunders in 1961 in Hedley. He owned and operated Doyle's Conoco Service Station in Hedley. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1980. Doyle worked for Northern Natural Gas/Enron for 28 years, retiring as a mechanic in 2007. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. Doyle was a member of the Hedley Lions Club, Khiva Shrine Temple and Pampa Optimist Club. In his spare time, he liked to play golf with the Hidden Hills Seniors every Wednesday. He also enjoyed the outdoors, spending time on the lake, camping, fishing and riding four-wheelers. Doyle liked woodworking where he crafted several various pieces of furniture. He was a great husband, father, son and "Pa Paw" who will be greatly missed by his family for his mischievous sense of humor and orneriness.SURVIVORS: wife: Judy Clendennen of the home; 1 daughter: Misty Baten and husband Brent of Pampa; 1 son: Darrin Clendennen and wife Jody of Pampa; mother: Mildred Lee Clendennen of Pampa; 3 grandsons: Destry Baten, Clay Baten and Channar Clendennen, all of Pampa; 3 granddaughters: Jacey Baten, Kenzie Clendennen and Keziah Clendennen, all of Pampa; 1 sister: Betty Owens and husband Merle of Claude; and many nieces and nephews. Doyle was preceded in death by his father: Woodrow Wilson Clendennen; and a daughter: Diane Rene Clendennen.
