Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. McCollum was born October 1, 1926 in Alberta City, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He married Carolyn McFadyen on December 28, 1946 in Liberty, Texas. She preceded him in death in August of 2004. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II. He later enlisted in the U. S. Coast Guard, serving until 1952. He worked for Sheffield-Armco Steel from 1957 until his retirement in 1979. He had been a resident of Pampa since 2007. Jack was a member of the Pentecostal church. He loved to do woodwork, work on cars, and he especially enjoyed working crossword puzzles. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Deborah Weaver and husband T. D. of Washington State, and Rebecca Olson and husband Alan of Pampa; 2 sons: Michael McCollum of Houston and Timothy McCollum and wife Donna of Port Orchard, Washington; 2 brothers: Jerry McCollum and wife Nancy of Cottage Grove, Oregon, and Jimmy McCollum and wife Lucky of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; 5 granddaughters: Heather, Rachael, Laura and Isabella McCollum, and Angela Lewis; 3 grandsons: Willie Downhour and wife Elizabeth, Rusty Weaver and wife Tonya, and Wesley McCollum and wife Rhonda; 1 step-grandson: Jonathan Olson; 11 great-grandchildren: Austin, Seth and Autumn Weaver, Sabrina and Ashley Downhour, Kylie Lewis, Krystal, and Madison McCollum, Dallas Wise, Sean Delling and Sebastian Belding. He was preceded in death by a son, Jack Wayne McCollum.
