SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Ronnie Goode, associate pastor at Trinity Fellowship, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Murphy was born Dec. 29, 1926 in Cleburne, Texas and had been a resident of Pampa since 1936. He married Joyce Phillips in March of 1955 in Clovis, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on June 5, 1996. He owned and operated Murphy's Phillips 66 service station from 1952-1956 and worked as a truck driver for V. Bell Oil Co. for 18 ? years, retiring in 1990. He loved the outdoors where he camped and rode four-wheelers.SURVIVORS: 2 sons: Montey Middleton of Houston and Larry Middleton and wife Debbie of Pampa; 2 sisters: Eda Wallin of Clarendon and Lota Farquhar of Nacogdoches; a daughter-in-law: Melody Middleton of Pampa; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, James Middleton, in June of 2008, by a brother, Curtis Murphy, and by a sister, Leta "Doodle" Potter.MEMORIALS: Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S.
