SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Kyle Ohsfeldt of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. O'Brien was born September 2, 1939 in Denver, Colorado, to John E. and Anna Mae O'Brien. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving from 1955 until 1960. He was a member of the Ironworkers Union Local 24 in Denver, rejoining after the service. Ray had been a resident of Pampa since 1984. He founded Trailer's Etc., with his oldest son, Ray, Jr. His passion was being able to work and build things for others. When his illness took away his passion, it was time for him to leave this earth.Ray enjoyed the outdoors. He dearly loved camping, hunting, fishing, or anything that put him alone with nature and God's creatures. His legendary Saturday morning breakfast with his friend Bill Willis, or morning visits with his brother solved many of the world's issues. Unfortunately, our country's leaders were not present to take note. He will be dearly missed by all.SURVIVORS: 2 sons: Raymond O'Brien, Jr., and wife Lori of Pampa, and David O'Brien and wife Lisa of Crowley; 2 daughters: Kathleen O'Brien of Amarillo and Katrisha Smith and husband Kevin of Corinth; their mother: Katharin of Carrollton; 1 brother: Jack O'Brien and wife Ann of Pampa; 10 grandchildren; 18 nieces and nephews.
