SERVICES: 2:00 PM Friday, April 3, 2009, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Jim Powell, pastor of Hobart Baptist Church, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Brock was born November 26, 1919 in Dallas and grew up in Smithville where she was reared by a special Aunt Marie and Uncle Jim. In the summer, she spent time with a special Aunt Tee and Uncle Finley in Canyon, and a special cousin, Idena McBroom. Myrtle was a member of Hobart Baptist Church when it was just a mission. She married Claude Joseph Brock on July 6, 1940 in Canyon. They were married 57 years and had three children. When the children finished high school, Myrtle went back to school and got her LVN license, and worked at Worley Hospital, Highland General Hospital and Coronado Hospital until her retirement in 1984. She was a grand lady, a loving and good mother and wife, and will be sorely missed.SURVIVORS: 1 daughter: Helen Allison and husband Bill of Pampa; 1 son: Eugene Brock and wife Paula of Pampa; 7 grandchildren: Stephanie Brooks, Kristi Harden, Matt Brock and Tyler Allison, all of Pampa, Kellie Fulton of Owasso, Oklahoma, Cody Allison of San Angelo, and Tamra Bennett of Amarillo; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Claude Brock in 1997, and a son, Joe Dan Brock in 2001.The family wishes to extend a special note of thanks to Myrtle Carey, a special lady and caregiver, whom mother came to love dearly and looked forward to seeing every evening; and to the special nurses and staff at Coronado Healthcare Center who cared for her.MEMORIALS: Hobart Baptist Church, 1100 W.
