Shirley Nicholson

SERVICES: At Mrs. Nicholson's request, her body was donated to Texas Tech School of Medicine. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Nicholson was born on July 28, 1938 in Little Rock, Arkansas and came to Pampa in 1978 from Odessa. She married D. L. Nicholson on June 11, 1977 in Odessa. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1995. Shirley retired from the Social Security Administration after 36 years of service. She then received a B. S. degree from Wayland Baptist University in 1987 and a B. S. degree in nursing from West Texas A & M University in 1997. She was a registered nurse and worked at Pampa Nursing Center and taught CVA classes at Clarendon College and Parkview Hospital in Wheeler. Shirley was very active in Red Hats and American Business Women's Association (ABWA).SURVIVORS: Fiance: Don Reed of Pampa; 2 brothers: Joe Westerfield of Hot Springs, AR and Don Westerfield of St. Louis, MO; and special friends: Joe and Carol Reed of Pampa.MEMORIALS: Clarendon College-Pampa Center Vocational Nursing Program, 1601 W.
