Fred Palmer, pastor of the Carpenter's Church, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 24, 2009, at the Ochiltree Cemetery south of Perryton, with Rev. George Records of Rantoul Presbyterian Church of Rantoul, Kansas, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Records was born February 14, 1929 in Pampa to Fitzhugh L. and Lulu M. Stewart Thompson of Mobeetie. She was baptized into the Methodist Church and lived her childhood in Mobeetie, Kingsmill, Canyon, Bovina and Amarillo. During her teen years, she lived in Borger. Margie graduated from Borger High School in 1946 and attended West Texas State College (now WTAMU). There she met her future husband, F. A. Records of Perryton, who recently returned from World War II service. They were married on June 8, 1948 in Borger at the First United Methodist Church. They continued their education by transfer to Texas Tech College. She graduated in 1951 with a BBA. F.A. got his BSME in 1953. They lived in Borger, Phillips, and Bartlesville, Oklahoma while F. A. worked for Phillips Petroleum. They were very civic minded in Borger and were both members of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce. Their three children, Paula, Franklin and Lora were born in Borger. By mutual agreement, Margie remained a fulltime housewife.In 1960, they moved to Dayton, Ohio when Captain Records returned to active duty as an engineer with the USAF. They lived in Ohio, Washington, California and Massachusetts. Margie worked two years for the Town of Lincoln, Massachusetts. They were members of the Concord Minute Men during the Bicentennial years, 1974-1977. They participated in many reenactments of famous battles of the Revolution. Margie was also active in the Officers Wives Clubs, base thrift shops and other base family activities prior to Lt. Col. Records' retirement in 1977. Later, she was active in her church, Christian Womens Club and with her husband in the Lions Club and WTU Golden Years Retirees Club. They lived in Abilene from 1979 until 2002 when they moved to Pampa.Margie was preceded in death by her parents: a son: Franklin A. Records; and a daughter: Lora L. Records.SURVIVORS: Husband: F. A. Records of the home; 1 daughter: Paula S. Hagerty of Anaheim, California; 3 grandchildren: Sara Phinney, Bobby Hagerty and David Anderson, all of California; 1 great-grandson: Lucas Phinney of California; 1 sister: Ruth Talbert of Abilene.Margie's family is grateful for the loving care given her by the staff at Pampa Nursing Center and Hospice Care during her terminal years of illness.
