Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Bolton was born September 8, 1918 in Phoenix, Arizona, to Novie E. and Nellie May Putney. She married Cecil Holmes on September 25, 1934 in Phoenix. They moved to Pampa in 1942 where they farmed south of town, and she also drove a school bus for that area on the many dirt roads. They later owned and operated a Texaco station on Brown Street and she worked for Smith Photography and Fraser Insurance Company. After Mr. Holmes death in 1962, Helen moved to Long Beach, California where she became an avid square dancer. She enjoyed making all of her beautiful dance dresses and most of her clothes. She married Robert Bolton in 1966 and worked for 17 years at Fountain Valley Hospital as a medical records coder. Upon their retirement, they moved to the mountains of Show Low, Arizona and she took up oil painting. She loved being able to walk or ride her bicycle for at least 3 miles every morning weather permitting, well into her early 80's. Upon Mr. Bolton's death in June of 1999, she returned to Pampa to be with her family, whom she loved to entertain. You would never find her sitting that she wasn't crocheting or knitting something. She lovingly gave these to her family and friends. Helen was a member of Central Baptist Church.
