SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 20, 2008, at the Salvation Army at 701 S. Cuyler, with Capt. Mark Martin, officiating. Masonic rites will be courtesy Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF & AM. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Prater was born September 13, 1939 in Wheeler. He had been a lifelong resident of Pampa. He married Joyce Adams on January 2, 1969 in Amarillo. He worked in the oil field as a truck driver, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF & AM. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and the National Guard.SURVIVORS: Wife: Joyce Prater of the home; 1 stepson: James Flippo of Amarillo; 1 sister: Lavanda Gamage of Fort Worth; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a nephew: Jack Gamage; a stepdaughter: Helen Willise; and a daughter-in-law: Maria Flippo.MEMORIALS: Coronado Healthcare Center, 1504 W. Kentucky, Pampa, Texas 79065.
