SERVICES: 2:00 PM Monday, November 3, 2008, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Bryan Loughmiller, minister of Central Church of Christ, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Rowan was born September 4, 1930 in rural Haskell County to Thomas and Evelyn Rowan. He attended schools at Centerpoint, Sagerton, and graduated from Rule High School in 1947. He attended Tarleton State Junior College in 1948. Pete married Gloria June Oneal on February 4, 1951 in Haskell. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1952. He retired from Celanese as a maintenance manager in 1989 after 34 years of service. Pete was a member of Central Church of Christ and the Experimental Aircraft Association.SURVIVORS: Wife: Gloria June Rowan of the home; 1 son: Allan Rowan and wife Crystal of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 1 daughter: Marva Spain and husband David of Hereford; 3 grandchildren: Kathryn Spain of Belton, Carrie Rowan of Dallas, and Derek Rowan of Round Rock; 2 great-grandsons: Zane Rowan and Keifer Thrasher, both of Round Rock; 3 brothers: Hayes Rowan of Plainview, John Rowan of Springville, California, and Terry Rowan of College Station; 1 sister: Alice Glenn of Odessa.
