SERVICES: 2:00 PM Friday, October 31, 2008, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry R. Lane, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church of Borger, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Ms. Watkins was born May 17, 1945 in Pampa, and was a 1963 graduate of Pampa High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany from the University of Oklahoma, and received a degree in graphic design at the University of Kansas. She was the instructional software designer for Jack Henry & Associates in Dallas, and was the featured instructor on the Hewlett-Packard online learning center. Ms. Watkins taught part-time as an associate faculty member of the Collin County Community College District, and also taught at Brookhaven College which is part of the Dallas Community College system. Her classes included introduction to computer Graphics, Beginning and Advanced Web Design, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Ms. Watkins was a former member of the Biological Photographic Association, Inc., and was honored with numerous awards for her photography. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. SURVIVORS: Son: Mark Watkins and wife Deborah of Sachse; and a sister: Kay Carter and husband Richard of Overland Park, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Kermit Lawson.MEMORIALS: to a favorite charity.
