Barry Loving, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Miami Cemetery in Miami, Texas under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Brent Dwayne Smith died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, surrounded by family and friends after fighting a courageous 4 1/2 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Brent was born Aug. 19, 1954 in Pampa and was a 1972 graduate of Pampa High School. He attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos and attained his dental lab technician certification in North Texas. He held a real estate license in Texas and Hawaii and was a certified commercial real estate inspector. An avid adventurist, Brent was a an accomplished maritime captain, sailing throughout Central and South America, and he later attained his private pilot license. Most recently, he was a manager at WFKR in Austin and prior to that he pursued a management career at Lexus of Maui, Hawaii. Brent was a former member of the First Christian Church in Pampa.SURVIVORS: Parents: Robert and Doris Smith of Pampa; a sister: Brenda Booth and husband Jim of Austin and their children, Garrett and McKinley Booth; and many other relatives and close friends.A special thanks goes to the physicians and staff at M.
