SERVICES: Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, September 29, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Miami, with Rev. Dennis Williams, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Burial will be in Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors with military rites courtesy of U. S. Army personnel, Fort Hood, Texas.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Howard was born March 6, 1921 in Roberts Co., Texas where he has lived most of his life. He married Maxine Laflin June 14, 1947 in Miami. He was an Army veteran serving with the 67th General Hospital in England during World War II. He worked for Roberts Co. as a custodian for 40 years. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church and was a member of the Miami Stompers which played for various community activities. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Bonnie Spriggs, Ivy Terry, and Dorothy Haynes; 1 brother: Frosty Howard.SUVIVORS: His wife: Maxine of the home. 2 daughters: Pixie Jones and husband Randy of Amarillo, and Marsha Tennant and husband Ricky of Miami. 2 sons: David Howard and wife Patsy of Ft. Morgan, Colorado and Don Ed Howard of Fair Grove, Missouri. 1 brother: Belton Howard of Bastrop; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.MEMORIALS: First Baptist Church of Miami or Roberts County Museum.
