Fern Rains

SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at Recreation Park. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Rains was born March 26, 1943 in Canadian. She married Troy Rains on April 13, 1966 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2006. She worked in the restaurant industry for many years, working for the Hickory Hut, Lamplighter Restaurant, and retiring from Peggy's Place after 10 years of service. She enjoyed reading, watching sci-fi movies, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite quote was, "When I came into this world, I was crying and everybody was smiling; when I leave this world, everybody will be crying and I will be smiling." SURVIVORS: 1 daughter: Sandra Ford of Pampa; 2 grandsons: Chris Hartley of Amarillo and Mikel Hartley of Pampa; 1 great-grandson: Leland Hartley of Amarillo; 2 great-granddaughters: Jayden Hartley of Pampa and Josette Hartley of Amarillo; 1 sister: Dean Conner and husband Joe of Pampa.
