He graduated from Borger High School in 1942. He was inducted in the US Army in 1943 in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He served with the 462nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion. He fought in the European battles and campaigns at Omaha Beach Normandy, Northern France, Ardenones, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was honorable discharged on December 2, 1945. He married Louise Patton in 1952, she preceded him in death in 1995. He married Wynona Robinson on July 23, 1998 in Amarillo. He owned Pampa College of Hairdressing from 1968-1976. He later owned Michelle's, Two B's Beauty Supply, Abby's Collectables, and The Loft Restaurant making him a prominent businessman in Pampa from 1968-1995. He was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Church, and the VFW. He was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Box, a son Mark Box, 1 brother, and 2 sistersSURVIVORS: Wife: Wynona Box of the Home; 4 daughters: Patsy Schmitto of Plano, Gena Teer of Kerrville, Jana Robinson of Austin, and Melissa Box of Borger; 2 sons: Michael Newcomb of Orange, California, Jay Robinson of Pampa; 1 brother: Kenneth Box of Pampa; 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.MEMORIALS: Trinity Fellowship Church, 2225 N.
