SERVICES: 4:00 PM Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa.BURIAL: Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Bridwell was born January 13, 1922 in Mendota. He married Virginia Mae Parker on March 13, 1940 in Wheeler. She preceded him in death on November 5, 1988. Pete was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps, serving during World War II. He had been a resident of White Deer since 1977. He was employed by Tejas Feeders for 13 years, and he worked for various feed yards and ranches in the area for many years.SURVIVORS: 1 daughter: Verna Smith and husband Dave of Dumas; 5 sons: Frank Bridwell and wife Madonna of Pampa, John Bridwell and wife Judy of Spearman, Vick Bridwell of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Joe Bridwell and wife Becky of Perryton, and Jim Bridwell of Borger; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva Frances Purcell and Jessie Lafayette Bridwell; 4 brothers: Raymond, Merle, J. L. and Jr. Bridwell; 2 sisters: Oleta Dooley and Lorene Cain; and 1 granddaughter: Lonna Faye.
