SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Skellytown with Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor, officiating. Immediately following the services, the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Pace was born Feb. 13, 1926 in Floydada to Lee and Jennie Burgett and attended Floydada schools. She married Merle Mercer on Oct. 20, 1946 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1971. She later married E. W. "Gene" Pace on May 8, 1973. She had been a resident of Skellytown since 1946. Neoma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Skellytown and taught the "70 to Heaven" Ladies Sunday School Class. Her hobby was to minister to her Sunday school class as well as the citizens of Skellytown. She was a regular visitor to all of the residents at St. Ann's Nursing Home in Panhandle. She was known to write her family consistently, and was known for sharing her good cooking with others. She always had an encouraging word for her family and friends.SURVIVORS: Husband: E. W. "Gene" Pace of Panhandle; 2 daughters: Vicki Brown of Midland and Nancy Mercer of Alto, NM; a son: Larry Mercer and wife Susie of Midland; a stepson: Tom Pace of Amarillo; 7 grandchildren, 1 step-granddaughter, 4 great grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters, and a son-in-law, Kelley Brown.MEMORIALS: First Baptist Church of Skellytown.
