SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Barry Loving, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Kempa was born May 9, 1927 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He graduated from Bartlesville High School and attended Oklahoma A&M University on a baseball scholarship. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1956. Frank was the manager of the Pampa Oilers baseball team. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was the truck service manager at Bob Johnson Motors in Borger for 25 years, and was employed by Mojave Petroleum Company from 1990 until his retirement in 1999. Frank married Beverly Russell on September 16, 1960 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the VFW Post #1657 and the American Legion Post.SURVIVORS: Wife: Beverly Kempa of the home; 1 daughter: Terry Barnets of Springfield, Illinois; 1 stepdaughter: Rainell Beck of Jordan, Utah; 1 stepson: William Russell of Bowie; 1 brother: John Kempa of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
