SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, with Rev. Carl Novian, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Newhouse was born October 5, 1926 in Shamrock where she attended school. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1948, moving to Amarillo for several years before returning to Pampa. She married John A. Newhouse in May of 1965 in Pampa. He preceded her in death in 2003. Gracie graduated from nursing school in Lubbock, earning her LVN license. She worked at the Worley Hospital and Highland General Hospital for several years. Gracie was an exceptional artist who did oil paintings, drawings and crafted pottery. She also loved to garden and take care of all her pets. Gracie had numerous friends and former patients who will miss her greatly.SURVIVORS: 2 brothers: Arthur Gowin of Andrews and Charles Gowin and wife Rose Ann of Pampa; 1 stepdaughter: Sharron Newhouse of Katy; 3 nephews: Charles H. Gowin, Tate Gowin of Andrews and Charles G. Gowin of Pampa; 3 nieces: Tanita Pedersen and Tamilan Dallas, both of Pampa, and Teresa Dodd of Lubbock; 5 great nephews, 4 great nieces, 2 great-great-nephews and 1 great-great niece; 1 step-grandson: Sean Newhouse of Katy.
