SERVICES: 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at the Central Baptist Church with Paul Nachtigall, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiating.ENTOMBMENT: Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Walker was born on Aug. 31, 1971 in Pampa and was a 1989 graduate of Pampa High School. She graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a B. A. degree in psychology and taught Reading Recovery at Lamar Elementary School. She married Alfonse Walker on March 13, 2004 in Pampa. Sherry was an active member of Highland Baptist Church. She loved to garden and ride trains with her husband, and she was an avid reader. She loved to travel and especially liked water parks. Throughout her life, she touched many lives as a friend, teacher, and confidant. She had a deep love for God and her family.SURVIVORS: Husband: Alfonse Walker of the home; her parents: Jerry and Priscilla Raines of Pampa; 1 brother: Michael Raines and wife Sue of Tarzan, TX; grandmother: Mary "Nana" Rutherford of Pampa; 2 aunts: Diane Young of Pampa and Glenda Ward and husband Larry of Clarksville, AR; mother-in-law: Evelyn "MawMaw" Denson and husband Robert of Houston; father-in-law: Eddy Walker and wife Rose of Houston; brother-in-law: Vincent Walker and wife Ingrid of Houston; grandmothers-in-law: Earline Schultz of Baton Rouge, LA and Georgia Scott of Houston; 1 nephew: Vincent Caleb Walker of Houston; 2 nieces: Nichele and Katelynn Raines, both of Tarzan, TX; a special cat, Chloe; and a host of cousins and extended family.SPECIAL NOTICE: The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sherry Walker Memorial Fund, c/o Pamcel Credit Union, 1939 N.
